Brunvoll equipment orders focus on hybrid
The first contract is for a complete propulsion, manoeuvring and control system for Fitjar Mekaniske Verksted AS and will equip a live fish carrier owned by Hordalaks AS of Norway.
“Brunvoll is proud to be the selected supplier for Hordalaks’ live fish carrier, with a system that satisfies the shipowner’s requirements to modern, efficient and flexible operation of the vessel,” said Roar Slotsvik, EVP sales & marketing of Brunvoll Group.
The scope of delivery consists of a gear and cp propeller plant with nozzle, tunnel thrusters and complete control system.
Hordagut’s propulsion system will be an efficient diesel-electric configuration, driven by two electric motors. It’s also battery installation ready meaning the vessel can be further equipped with a hybrid energy system.
Delivery from Brunvoll will take place by the third quarter of 2019.
Plug-in hybrid
The second contract will see Brunvoll Mar-El supply a complete plug-in hybrid system to the innovative Brim Explorer, a vessel designed for sightseeing and whale watching.
Scope of delivery from Brunvoll includes a Triton Hybrid Package consisting of a total electric and battery package including control system for propulsion and manoeuvring.
During sightseeing the vessel will run in full battery/electric mode to ensure a silent and environmentally friendly sailing.
