Hatz engines given Stage V certification

The certification applies to its air-cooled engines of the B, D, G, L and M series with a power output of less than 19 kilowatts. The series has fulfilled EPA Tier 4 final emission stage regulations since 2013.

Also certified at Stage V are the company’s H-series liquid-cooled engines – the 3H50TICD and 4H50TICD – three cylinder and four cylinder engines in power classes from 19 to 55 kilowatts.

To meet the requirements of the certification, the liquid-cooled engines are equipped with a separable combination of diesel oxidation catalytic converter and diesel particulate filter. Through the use of optimised Hatz Exhaust Aftertreatment Technology, the engineers have ensured an efficient design in terms of size and optimal adaptation to possible load profiles.

The engines use the intelligent Hatz Advanced Combustion Strategy which is said to reduce soot input and oil consumption as well as reducing ash input into the filter.
