Panel to provide insight into EU ETS as consultation extended

The forum is highly topical, particularly as the potential application of the Emission Trading System (ETS) remains uncertain. If the ETS scheme was applied to cover extra-EU trade, as well as intra-EU trade, the ETS could affect over 40% of the world’s fleet, based on historical trading patterns.

The European Commission announced late last week that a deadline for individuals and organizations to contribute to a public consultation was being extended until 5 February.

High-Level Panel

The Motorship Live is bringing together a panel of high-level contributors, who will be able to discuss the potential direct and indirect effects of the extension of the ETS to the maritime sector.

Harry Tenumu Conway, vice chair of the Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC), IMO

Join us on Tuesday 24 November at 11am CET / 10am GMT to listen to the panel, which will be chaired by Lars Robert Pedersen, deputy secretary-general of BIMCO.

The panel will be followed by an optional 30 minute interactive forum, which will offer the opportunity to network with some of the hundreds of other forum delegates and the panellists after the session. Meetings can be arranged in advance after registration.

Delegates will also be able to arrange bilateral video meetings with fellow attendees until 4pm CET on the day, and will be able to contact fellow attendees after until 27 November.
