LR reminds on Bunker Delivery Note details
The Bunker Delivery Note submitted as part of the evidence pack for IMO Data Collection System (DCS) and MRV Emissions Report verification must, in all cases, indicate the fuel name and grade as specified in the ISO 8217 fuel standard to ensure the correct Emissions Factor is used.
This means using standard names such as Heavy Fuel Oil (ISO 8217 grades RME through RMK) and Light Fuel Oil (LFO) (ISO 8217 grades RMA through RMD) instead of names such as VLSHFO, VLSFO and LSHFO.
These less accurate names could result in confusion and mistakes when classifying fuels according to ISO 8217 grades which could lead to incorrect Emission Factors (Cf) being used in vessel ratings for upcoming IMO Carbon Intensity Indicator (CII) regulations and amendments to the EU Emissions Trading System.
