J-ENG reaches UE engine milestone
The company has produced 4,586 units of the ‘Hinomaru’ low-speed marine engine which dates back to 1955. J-ENG is reportedly the world’s only global licensor to produce an integrated system from development to design, manufacturing, sales, and after-sales service.
The company is currently manufacturing 6UEC42LSH engines, an ultra-low fuel consumption design for Handysize bulk carriers built by domestic shipyards. J-ENG says it also has a large backlog of orders and promising business negotiations for its latest series UEC50LSH engine, including the MGO mono-fuelled UEC35LSJ engine.
Chinese Licensees Guangzhou Diesel Engine Factory Co. and Zhejiang Yungpu Diesel Engine Co., for which J-ENG supplies technical guidance and support, have also seen a surge in orders and have begun full-scale production.
Additionally, J-ENG is working on the development of ammonia and hydrogen fuelled engines with the support of the Green Innovation Fund Project aimed at achieving carbon neutrality in 2050. To this end, the company has invested in new factory facilities.
