Naming ceremony for new Baltic ferry

The new RoPax vessel will operate on the Karlskrona – Gdynia line, linking southern Sweden with Poland. Capacity on the route has increased since the introduction of the Stena Estelle in September 2022.

The 240m-long ferry will be one of the largest vessels of its type operating in the Baltic Sea, with capacity for 1,200 people and up to 200 trucks. With a cargo capacity of 3,600 lane metres, it is increasing capacity by no less than 60% compared with previous vessels on the route. Loading and unloading are streamlined with a drive-through configuration for both car decks, while the vessel is able to use shore power connections during port calls.

Stena Line also noted that it has made significant investments to modernise the Gdynia-Karlskrona ferry connection since 2021. In June 2022, operations were transferred to the new ferry terminal in Gdynia, which allows berthing of 240 metre vessels and offers the possibility of developing an intermodal solution, thanks to its proximity to railway tracks.
