Huisman kits out Havfram Wind WTIV
The fully electric LEC will be fitted with a 155m boom and has a lifting height of around 180 metres above deck. The crane has a small tail swing to best make use of deck space and has been optimised for installation of bottom fixed foundations in combination with Huisman’s monopile grippers and pre-piling templates.
The crane will be produced at Huisman’s production facility in Zhangzhou, China and follows an earlier order in December 2022 for an identical crane for Havfram’s first WTIV.
“We are grateful that Havfram have placed their trust in us to also equip their second innovative newbuild vessel with a Huisman crane,” said David Roodenburg, chief executive of Huisman.
“They are constructing some of the world’s most energy efficient, hybrid-powered wind turbine installation vessels. With the two crane orders, we can contribute to boosting wind energy production as well as further improving energy efficiency to reduce Havfram’s carbon footprint,” he added.
The Huisman LEC features a fully-electric system, an in-house slew bearing system, unique boom design which limits motion at the crane tip, a small tail spin and is future-proofed for the next generation of tagline systems.
