Tersan to acquire Havyard Leirvik
Eqva has announced that it has agreed a deal to divest its shares in the Havyard Leirvik yard, and its subsidiaries Havyard Leirvik AS and Havyard Leirvik Eiendom AS to Tersan for NOK30m (US$2.7m) in cash.
Tersan confirmed that the acquisition will be completed by the end of the year, subject to regulatory procedures and approvals.
Tersan noted that the acquisition was expected to strengthen its operations in Northern Europe, increase its production capacity and offer it the opportunity to develop collaborative working methods. Tersan and Havyard Leirvik Shipyard had already collaborated on a number of projects on a case by case basis.
Ahmet T. Paksu, the vice chairman of the board of Tersan Shipyard said that “We believe that the acquisition of Havyard Leirvik Shipyard is a significant step forward for Tersan Shipyard. We have already been collaborating with Havyard Leirvik on project base cases, although such collaboration had been only to some extent it has always worked well and showed promising signs for a potential more expanded partnership.”
The divestment represents a strategic reorientation away for Eqva. It will be targeting opportunities in industrial service companies that contribute to the green transition in maritime, power intensive and renewable industries, while seeking to develop its BKS business unit, which is a leading fully integrated system supplier for maritime, offshore and landbased industries.
