Fondo Italiano d’Investimento Acquires 33% Stake in RINA S.p.A.

Following the deal, Fondo Italiano d’Investimento will acquire a minority interest up to 33%, while the company’s management will hold about 3.5% holding. Registro Italiano Navale will maintain a majority stake in the group.

As part of the official announcement, RINA formally confirmed the appointment of Carlo Luzzatto as ceo and General Manager of the company. Ugo Salerno remains in his role as Executive Chairman, with responsibilities for communication and institutional relations, and retains a place on the nine-member board.

Luzzatto is expected to focus on pursuing a strategic growth plan, focused on evolving towards business models and services that are increasingly centered on innovation and sustainability.

The Italy-based classification society remains committed to listing on a stock exchange within the next 3-5 years.
