The company said that it has acquired an additional shareholding in the joint venture from Bay Crest, while retaining Golden Agri and Bay Crest as partners, allowing it to take a more active role in strategic development.

“By becoming the majority shareholder in GSB, Stena Bulk is strengthening a platform that aligns closely with our long-term strategy in the chemical and specialised tanker segment,” said Erik Hånell, president and CEO of Stena Bulk.

Accelerating growth

Since its establishment, GSB has developed into a recognised operator within specialised tankers, supported by a strong operational and commercial track record.

The company has built particular strength in Asia and the Middle East, positioning itself as a reliable partner to chemical cargo customers in complex regional trades.

With Stena Bulk now holding majority ownership, the shareholders intend to accelerate business growth by expanding fleet capacity, broadening contract coverage, and enhancing commercial reach.

The move is designed to strengthen GSB’s competitive position within tanker shipping, while maintaining close collaboration between all three shareholders.

Philip Eriksson, managing director of GSB Tankers, said the change in ownership structure reflects confidence in long-term market fundamentals and will support fleet optimisation and customer-focused service delivery.

Golden Stena Baycrest will continue operating from its bases in Singapore and Dubai, leveraging the combined experience of the partnership.
