First orders for UB engine

The B versions of the 52U, 62U and 72U were introduced in early 1997 and are shorter and lighter than the ordinary original versions. In the case of the 62 unit now ordered, the B version is 214mm shorter and 10 tonnes lighter than the standard unit.

Length savings come from the redesigned aft end which allows a shortened thrust bearing design. The B versions also have the electronically controlled cylinder lubrication introduced on the T versions.
