Fibre optics for high temperatures
A heavy-duty sensor for constant pressure measurements in harsh environments is available from Inertial Aerosystems. It is designed to monitor and control compressor pressure in natural gas pumping stations, turbine engines, and oil and gas exploration equipment.
The AutoPSI-DC can operate in temperatures up to 350 deg C in chemically volatile media and with high levels of EMI/RFI interference fields, says the company. The sensor is housed in a sealed gauge package with a non-corrosive, non-abrasive metal diaphragm. It is connected to an in-line cylindrical metal signal conditioner via an extendible, high temperature fibre optic cable.
