Engine pressure curves compared

A quartz-based peak pressure meter for diesel and gas engines is available from Kistler Instrumente. After recording the peak pressure from the pre-selected number of cycles the instrument automatically stores a complete cylinder pressure curve, says Kistler. The pressure curves can be displayed graphically via Windows compatible software and the readings of all cylinders can be overlapped for balancing.

The 350g unit is powered by a standard 9V battery and has an operating life of around 20 hrs, says the company.
