Cegelec upgrades FPSO

Cegelec Projects has supplied a triple voting dynamic positioning system to R & B Falcon`s FPSO Seillean. The upgraded vessel will be used on the world`s deepest production well, at 1,900m, by Petrobras in the Roncador field.

The DPS 903 system provides an extra level of redundancy, making it one of the most reliable available, says Cegelec. It comprises a three unit suite, each unit capable of controlling the vessel independently. If a fault occurs in one unit, the remaining two will automatically degrade to a Duplex DP control system.
