Contracts for A&P

The A&P Group won significant repair contracts for three of its yards during November.

A&P Falmouth started repair work on the Landing Ship Logistics (LSL) vessel Sir Percivale in December for the UK`s Ministry of Defence. The £5.5 million, five month contract includes substantial steelwork, engine repairs and overhaul, maintenance of accommodation, a full hull blast and coating, and upgrading safety systems to meet Solas requirements.

A&P Tyne will carry out a one month £1.25 million Survey and Essential Defects refit on another MOD LSL vessel, Sir Galahad. This contract follows the announcement of the £9 million Smit Pioneer conversion at the start of the month.

The Southampton yard docked Fred Olsen`s cruise ship Black Watch for a 12-day work programme during December, and was expecting Black Prince to follow. Yard work includes general drydock tasks plus a minor blast and paint programme; the project also provided work for specialist outfitting contractors.
