Super-large drillship

The 23,000g vessel will have main dimensions including a length of 114m, a beam of 78m and a depth of 106m. It will be equipped with a dynamic positioning system, and will be capable of drilling depths down to 10,000m. HHI plans to adopt an offshore platform production process for the drill ship, assembling upper and bottom structures on land and not in drydock.

The newbuild is scheduled for delivery in November 2000. A third similar vessel is also under negotiation.
