NCL fleet to grow
Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) is continuing with plans to further expand its fleet and has announced that it has signed a letter of intent with Lloyd Werft shipyard for another cruise ship.
The 2,000-passenger vessel will be similar to Norwegian Sky, which is due to be launched at the German yard in August this year. The contract contains an option for a second vessel of the same size.
The first 80,000g ship will be built at a cost of $351 million and is marked for delivery on June 1, 2001. If the option is exercised, the second ship will be built at a cost of $334 million and will be delivered on April 1, 2002.
