Regulatory regime guide published by IACS
A general guide to current safety and pollution prevention requirements for ships, and the thinking behind their development, has been published by the International Association of Classification Societies (IACS).
The 28-page guide, Ship Safety and Pollution Prevention: The Regulatory Regime, looks at hazards to and represented by ships at sea, and considers the strategy of regulation. It covers class rules, ship structures, international conventions, load lines, stability, carriage of dangerous goods, fire, radio, lifesaving, pollution prevention, training, watchkeeping and certification and safety management.
