Further SCC orders for STN Atlas

STN Atlas Marine Electronics has received orders for eight Ship Control Centres (SCCs) which integrate and automate basic navigation, communication and ship operation for centralised bridge management.The orders cover systems for three 65,000g container vessels being built by Samsung and a further two for chemical tankers under construction at Hanjin Heavy Industries. A similar vessel built at the Shanghai Edward yard in China is also to be equipped with the system.

SCC`s have also been commissioned for Costa Crociere`s 84,000g Costa Atlantica as well as Carnival Cruises` new 82,000g liner, both of which are being built by Kvaerner-Masa Yards.

The company has also received orders from Italian and South Korean yards for 16 NACOS integrated navigation command systems. Further NACOS 65-3 systems have been ordered by P&O Princess Cruises` for its two new 109,000g cruise ships being built at Fincantieri`s Monfalcone yard. Similar systems are to be fitted by the yard to Carnival Cruise Line`s 101,300g Carnival Conquest and Carnival Glory, due for completion in 2002 and 2003 respectively.
