Thrane & Thrane plans remote terminal

Thrane & Thrane is to develop a maritime communication terminal including display, keyboard, GPS receiver, DC supply and an antenna. In addition to digital voice, fax and data services, the terminal will have emergency functions, says the company. The product is targeted at merchant ships, yachts, and fishing boats.

The company has also has signed a contract with ICO Global Communications, for the development and supply of terminals for remote businesses and residential housing.
