One man operation for product tankers

Raytheon Marine has installed its first DNV-W1 integrated BridgeControl system on Norway`s latest newbuilding Doris, a product tanker designed for one-man bridge operation, built by Aukra shipyard for Anders Utkilen`s Rederi.

The system includes the company’s Pathfinder/ST MK 2 radars with built-in autopilot operation, ecdis, navigation monitoring and the NautoConning bridge watch alarm system, Anschütz gyro compass, autopilot, steering controls, DGPS and a full Standard Radio GMDSS station including MF/HF, VHF, Inmarsat C and -B.

The company has also received orders to outfit 27 newbuildings in Europe, USA, Korea and China.
