MacGregor signs $2 million roro ramp deal

MacGregor`s roro ship division is supplying stern quarter ramp/doors to a new pair of Grimaldi deep sea roros, having already installed the same access outfits on an earlier three sister ships. Two more 25,000 dwt multipurpose roro freight carriers for Grimaldi Line from Fincantieri`s Palermo yard have also been specified with MacGregor cargo access systems, with a combined contract value of $2.1 million.

Capacity is arranged over 11 decks for up to 3,500 cars, 3,500 linear metres of freight or 1,170 containers.

The stern quarter ramp/door has an overall length of around 35.5m and a minimum/maximum driveway of 8m/15.5m. Part of the three-section ramp is designed to function as a watertight door closing the hull opening.
