Medical procedures package

US company, Maritime Training Services, has produced a 53 min training video and an accompanying 60-page handbook entitled: Medical Emergencies: The Officers? Shipboard Guide. Designed to be used together, the video and handbook coaches the viewer in dealing with the most common medical procedures and emergencies encountered at sea.

The video/handbook package is in colour coded segments for easy reference. These segments are: preparation keeping good records and medicines; assessment airways, breathing, circulation, and how to take vital signs and look for telltale symptoms; and treatment giving injections, suturing, dressing wounds, setting up IV lines, and splinting an injury.
