Cable Penetration Sealer

3M has introduced a fire protection material for cable penetrations in bulkheads and decks that it says maintains the integrity of fire-rated structures for up to an A60 (IMO) and H60 (UL) rating, and has been classified by the US Coast Guard for watertight integrity.

Called 3M Marine Fire Wrap, it is a flexible, graphite-based product that expands up to 25 times in the heat of a fire, allowing the wrap to effectively fill in the voids around and between cable bundles, says the company. The product is available 101.6mm width, in 3mm single layer thickness, or 6mm double layer thickness.
