Boilers : BDT equips two cruise ships

Greens Division, part of the newly formed BDT Engineering, has secured a contract to supply six Diesecon exhaust gas boilers and two spanner boilers to each of two new cruise liners currently under construction for P&O Princess Cruise at the Monfalcone shipyard in Italy.

The six boilers will provide steam for engine fuel oil heating and fresh water evaporation while at sea. The forced circulation units are water tube type and incorporate BDT Engineering`s steel H finned tubes.

The two spanner boilers will be used for shore-side duties operating the air conditioning and fresh water systems on the 109,000g vessels. The ships will be delivered in late 2000 and early 2002 respectively.
