Low cost HFO filter

Finn-filter has introduced an automatic back flushing HFO unit capable of handling up to 200 lit/min of hot fuel. The unit can be fitted to either the hot or cold side of the booster unit and will filter down to 10 microns on the cold side or between 15-34 microns on the hot.

While the filter candles are set around a centre tube in the usual fashion, the tube itself is used to trap air. This has two functions: to act as an air spring to even out pressure pulses; and to provide blow-down air to clean the top of the candles during back flushing.

The duplex unit has a simple construction with a third bypass filter for use during manual cleaning. Due to the simple design, the company says its unit cost less that others currently on the market.
