Litton wins RCI order

Two new Vantage-class cruise ships under construction at the Meyer Werft yard for Royal Caribbean are to get integrated bridge systems from Litton Marine. The ships are scheduled for delivery early this year and in the second half of 2002.

Because of Royal Caribbean`s two-bridge policy the vessels will receive a totally redundant package consisting of two independent Vision 2100 integrated bridge systems, says Litton.

These will include interswiched BridgeMaster E S-band and X-band radars, a Sperry Marine voyage management system with ecdis, a docking system, weather station, doppler speed logs, C Plath fibre-optic gyrocompass, adaptive autopilots, weather routing software, voyage data recorder and a complete GMDSS radio and satellite communications suite.

Litton is also supplying integrated bridge systems for Royal Caribbean`s new Eagle-class ships and has won the contract to upgrade the bridge systems on vessels throughout the company`s fleet.
