LPG carrier gets Schilling Monovec

Hyundai Heavy Industries of Korea, has ordered a single screw Schilling Monovec rudder from Hamworthy KSE for a 7,800m³ LPG carrier it is building for Norwegian owner Navion. The rudder offers reduced tug reliance and better manoeuvrability, especially at slow speeds, compared with conventional rudder designs says Hamworthy.

Norwegian owner Navion has also specified Hamworthy KSE`s Twin Asymmetric Monovec rudder systems for five of its new 140,000 dwt shuttle tankers being built by the Spanish group AESA Sestao.
