Spitznas, the manufacturer of air-driven tools and equipment, has launched an electrically operated axial fan. Developed in association with its distributor Maxim, the fan is designed for ventilating and removing fumes as well as toxic and explosive gasses from tanks and cooling equipment. It is also approved by Germanischer Lloyd for use in the cargo area of oil tankers, says Spitznas.
It is powered by a 110v single-phase supply and has been approved to the E Ex e II T4 safety classification for use in zone 1 and 2 class hazardous areas, says the company. It measures 300mm diameter x 400mm long x 450mm overall height, weighs 25kg, and runs at noise level of 77 decibels. Its blow rate is 3,700 m3/hr.
