Vector and raster on DGPS chart
Leica Geosystems has introduced an upgrade for the MX 480 Professional Charting System permitting the use of raster cartography from the United States and Great Britain. This is the first DGPS chart navigator capable of running both vector and raster cartography, says the company.
The MX 480 can now accept the official NOAA/Maptech and British ARCS products, as well as C-MAP NT vector charts, says Leica.
The MX 480 Professional Charting System includes a Leica MX 412B professional DGPS navigator integrated with a PC-based chart plotter. Position, routing and alarm data are automatically exchanged between the two and mariners can view the vessel`s position and can enter waypoints and routes with point-and-click commands, says Leica, with route information being automatically stored in the MX 41 2B`s memory.
