Compression extended

Stratos has extended compression capabilities to Trimble Galaxy (including GMDSS Galaxy Sentinel) Inmarsat-C customers for messages sent to shore destinations..

Actual compression will vary depending on the size and content of the message, but typical savings range from 20 to 50 per cent, says the company.

Compression services are available to Trimble Inmarsat-C customers with Galaxy DCE versions 4.0 or higher.
