The Maritime Data Network, owned and operated by Globe Wireless, has commissioned a new terrestrial digital node in Darwin, Australia. ITS Communications will handle maintenance and facilitation of the node which increases the network to 17 nodes linked world-wide. The network provides communications to and from ships at sea as well message delivery confirmations and notice of satellite messages waiting ashore.

Products include the Globe Communications Centre, e-mail, data transfer to and from shore, special accounts for crew messaging, ship`s bulletin news and a workboat management system.
