Rockwool adds pipe range
Rockwool says its Universal Pipe Section insulation weighs up to 40 per cent less, occupies up to 30 per cent less space, and saves on installation time.
The product is MED certified and is non-combustible according to IMO A799(19) and the surface complies with requirements of low flame spread according to IMO A653(16), says Rockwool.
The product consists of stonewool that is processed to make it flexible when pressed, while its diameter and insulation qualities remain constant. A ?Z-lock? in the closure mechanism forces the pipe section into place and creates sealed junctions. The inner structures of the insulation adjust automatically to irregularities preventing thermal bridges from occurring, says Rockwool.
The stonewool used in the pipe section is damp and water resistant, and coated with reinforced alu-foil, which makes suitable for insulation of hot pipes up to 250degC as well as insulation of cold pipes.
