Motion sensor for heli-decks

Importer

The new version of the TSS Deck Motion Monitor has been chosen for shared use on three icebreakers to be operated out of Norway by Hayvard. The units will monitor movement of the icebreakers` helicopter landing decks. The system was installed aboard Tor Viking in January and it can be moved to either of the other two icebreakers as operational circumstances demand, says TSS.

The system consists of the motion sensor from TSS and a DMM View for Windows software package that can be installed on PCs on the ship. It provides a display of vessel movement suitable for radio broadcast to approaching helicopter crews, says TSS.

Built for sub-sea use, the company says it is unaffected by water and can be located horizontally or vertically without any protective housing. All three ships carry PCs equipped with the DMM View software and have the necessary cable runs already installed.
