Amsterdam repair yard Shipdock has won a three ship block booking from Norway?s Jo Tankers. The first ship, the 7,918 dwt chemical carrier Jo Hegg, arrives at the yard in May for general repairs and tank blasting work and will be followed by Jo Ask and Jo Eik.

Shipdock won the contract in competition with Dutch, Spanish and Polish yards. “We are proud to be able to compete with yards from the Mediterranean and the Baltic in the Norwegian market,” said project manager Frank Scheij.

Other work underway includes major bottom damage repairs to car carrier HUAL Transporte for Norway?s Hoegh Fleet Services. The Boskalis dredger Cornelis Zanen arrived at the yard in early April for work lasting three to four weeks. Shipdock repaired 39 ships in the first three months of the year, with around 50% going into drydock.
