Keppel redelivers FSO

Keppel Shipyard has completed the conversion of the 87,811 dwt tanker MT Metsovon into floating storage and offloading (FSO) unit Yetagun FSO for repeat customer Single Buoy Moorings (SBM) Production.

The vessel will be operated by SBM Production and leased to Premier Petroleum Myanmar for 15 years uninterrupted deployment off Myanmar. It has the capability to receive 16,000 barrels of stabilised condensate per day from a nearby production platform via a subsea pipeline, with storage capacity for 500,000 barrels.

The 1979 built ship underwent extensive refurbishment and life extension work to prepare it for its new role. Ballast tanks were fully blasted and coated, the external hull was blasted and coated, and machinery, equipment and accommodation were refurbished. A turret mooring arm system, a helideck, a metering skid, cargo condensate and offloading piping systems, control and emergency systems and a deck crane were installed.
