Bridge display with built-in position reporting
Centerprise International says its Navigator GNIS 800 bridge display system improves the volume of information immediately accessible to both the vessel?s master and on-shore support staff. Three of its systems have been installed on China Ocean Shipping Company vessels. Software for the system was developed by Electronic Navigation Systems. It provides electronic charting as well as the capability to receive and display ARPA targets, weather forecasts, safety of navigation information and other data on the electronic chart in view. The system can also be set up to regularly e-mail the ship?s position to an on-shore server. Centerprise says the system?s 21-inch flat screen monitor provides a clear display under all light conditions. It also includes a waterproof membrane keyboard, with adjustable low-level lighting for night use, numeric pad and a 50mm roller ball.
