Deutz 620 powered up

Deutz has upped the rating of its TBD 620 series of diesel engines. The range, which is available in V8, V12 and V16 configurations, now offers outputs from 829kW to 2,336kW at engine speeds of 1,500 to 1,860 rev/min. It was previously available in outputs from 880kW to 2,247kW. Deutz says the increase in output is based on the use of new turbochargers, new injection pumps, new piped water pumps, enlarged heat exchangers and intake air coolers, and electronic control and monitoring systems. The first uprated V16 engine is already in operation in Asia, says Deutz.
