Shock proof enclosures for Indian Navy

IAC has won the contract to supply acoustic enclosures for a series of new frigates being built at Mazagon Dock in Mumbai for the Indian Navy. In addition to containing the noise emissions of the Wärtsilä diesel generators on the new vessels, the enclosures are designed to withstand severe shock loadings, says IAC. All-round access to the diesel generators is achieved via a captive sliding assembly which supports the enclosure?s side wall panels, allowing them to be removed and stowed to one side. The company has produced similar structures for other military vessels, including Royal Navy Type 23 frigates.
