Transas wins Far Eastern GMDSS simulators order

Transas Marine Pacific has won an order for a networked GMDSS simulator for the Pertamina Marine Education and Training Centre in Jakarta, Indonesia. In co-operation with its local agent, Panorama Timur Jaya, the company will supply a TGS4000 simulator system comprising 12 PC-based trainee workstations, two mini GMDSS consoles and an instructor station. Pertamina?s GMDSS simulator complex will be the largest GMDSS simulator facility in Indonesia officially certified for GOC and ROC training, says Transas. The company has also received an order from the Marine Department of the Government of Hong Kong Safety Administrative Region for a TGS4000 network to be installed in the customer?s simulation centre. The simulator will include an instructor station and six interactive PC-based trainee workstations, as well as a mini GMDSS console. The Marine Department plans to open the facility for professional training courses for local GMDSS operators. The TGS4000, is type-approved by the MCA.
