Compact terminal from Thrane & Thrane

Thrane & Thrane has launched the Capsat Fleet77 satellite communication terminal which uses the new Inmarsat Fleet service. The company says it is smaller and lighter than conventional terminals measuring 85cm high and 84cm in diameter and weighs 25kg. The unit offers both voice and data traffic via either 64 kbps ISDN or 24×7 online access based on the mobile packet data service protocol (MPDS). Where ISDN connections are charged by the minute MPDS access is paid by the quantity of data sent and received.
