GL relaunches website

Germanischer Lloyd has completely revised its website – www.gl-group.com – and posted it with a new design on the Internet. The redesigned Internet portal offers clearer, faster and even more informative services.

The number of times the classification society¹s website has been accessed by customers and business partners has tripled over the course of the last two years. In the new, brand-conformant GL design, the website offers useful assistance and easy navigation to facilitate this growing traffic, not only in the form of information on the service offering but also with a variety of online tools.

The new heading ?client support? on the homepage makes work much easier for clients accessing the site, thanks to the rapid access it affords to Germanischer Lloyd?s online applications. Used for planning and ordering surveys by Internet, ?fleet online? is the most well known GL tool, while ?registerbook online? provides information on all ships classed by GL. The services also include ?approval finder?, with database access to the over 14,000 approvals issued by Germanischer Lloyd.

Rapid access to appropriate personnel, with considerably extended search possibilities, is enabled by the revamped ?contact finder?, the electronic telephone directory and reference guide on GL experts and surveyors worldwide, including the classification society?s head office staff in Hamburg. It is now possible to search directly for persons as well as cities, countries and keywords.
