Lifeboat specialist Schat-Harding has teamed up with Unitor Ships Service to strengthen after-sales service for the cruise industry in the Miami and Fort Lauderdale area. Unitor will act as a marketing agent for Schat-Harding and provide logistics support for cruise ship life-saving equipment service for all cruise ships using Florida’s ports.

With this alliance, Schat-Harding aims to further strengthen its level of service. Trygve Kjerpeseth, after-sales and service manager of Schat-Harding says, “We have a service centre and a sales co-ordination centre in Louisiana and a service team in Daytona, Florida. Using Unitor’s network and logistics support, our cruise clients can draw on

these resources. We are developing more and more service contracts with cruise operators. This agreement provides the maintenance, training and support they need to ensure their lifesaving equipment is always ready to meet an emergency situation or the demands of increasingly frequent and stringent port state controls. The Unitor link in Miami is vital to cutting response times and being close to users of Schat-Harding boats and davits.”

Unitor supplies two out of three cruise vessels worldwide through a network of 22 dedicated cruise ports, including a major technical and logistics operation in Miami. Unitor visits every cruise vessel in Florida ports.
