ITIC Forum 2004
FOLLOWING the success of the 2000 event, International Transport Intermediaries Club (ITIC) is holding a two-day Forum for its Members on 28-29 September, 2004. The Forum, to be held at the Dorchester Hotel, Park Lane, London W1, will look at the current challenges facing its membership which consists of ship agents, ship brokers, ship managers, marine surveyors and other marine professionals.
Attracting expert speakers from around the world, the first day of the Forum will give an overview of the current marketplace for ITIC’s Members. There will also be an in-depth look at ISPS, how to cope with ever increasing regulation, and the effects of money laundering.
The second day is divided into four separate programmes aimed at ship agents, brokers, managers, and consultants and surveyors. Topics to be discussed include the clearing of derivatives for shipbrokers, and the criminalisation of maritime accidents for ship managers. There will be a mock mediation for marine surveyors and other professionals, and for ship agents there will be a discussion on whether there is a future for independent liner agents. Workshops will also take place in each group.
