Shipbuilding division of Hanjin Heavy Industries plans to increase turnover from $860million in 2005 to $1.3billion in 2007. To achieve this, the Busan-based shipbuilder will introduce a 3,000 tonne lifting crane later this year and introduce a floating dock in 2006.

In 2007, it will introduce new shipbuilding technology to shorten shipbuilding period of 5,000TEU container ships from 2.5 to 1.5 months, which will increase the number of annual deliveries from 9.6 ships to 16 ships. It will also expand its engineering capability for ultra large container ships.
