Viet Nam getting bigger
The Viet Nam Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (Vinashin) is building a 100,000 dwt oil tanker at its Dung Quat shipyard.
The double hulled ship, the biggest of its kind to be built in Viet Nam to date, will measure 245 metres long, 20 metres wide and have 14 cargo tanks. Equipped with a 13,000kW engine, the ship will have a service speed of 15 knots and is scheduled to be launched in 2006.
