Moller orders a dozen boxships

A.P. Moller-Maersk placed an order for 10 container ships plus two more options with Hanjin Heavy Industries at a total cost of about $ 970 million.

The contratc comprises of six 6,200TEU vessels plus two more options and four 3,400TEU container ships. Delivery is scheduled from early 2007 to January 2008.

With this new order, the shipbuilder’s order book stands at $1.3 billion so far this year, exceeding its annual new order target of $800 million.
