Rem?y orders from Aker

Aker Brattvaag, a company in the Aker Yards Group, has won a contract from Rem?y Shipping AS to build a specialized offshore vessel of design Aker – 03R. The value of the newbuilding contract is approximately NOK 150 million ($23 million).

The design has been developed in cooperation between Aker Brattvaag AS, Aker Yards Project AS and Skipsteknisk AS. Delivery from S?viknes Verft is scheduled for August 2005. The vessel will be 72.4 metres long, 16.0 metres wide, will have accommodation for 36 people and is designed for world wide operations.

Rem?y Shipping has at present a coastguard vessel under construction at S?viknes Verft for delivery in January 05. The seismic support vessel “Geco Scorpio” was delivered from S?viknes Verft in May 2000, and the platform supply vessel “Rem Stadt” was delivered from Brattvaag Skipsverft in 1996 to the same owner.
