Jardine, a leading international provider of asset performance improvement services, has been acquired by DNV. This move strengthens DNV?s ability to help companies optimise the economical performance of individual assets without compromising their safety or environmental performance.

Jardine and Associates will be integrated as part of DNV?s Consulting business. The acquisition follows several years of DNV and Jardine working closely in an operating alliance. The combined expertise of DNV and Jardine will offer the market the full range of asset risk management services, delivering the objective of managing assets safely and responsibly.

Asset managers constantly have to identify new opportunities for improving operational results and managing the associated risks. There is industry recognition that “value chain reliability” provides added value to high-CAPEX projects. Those assets that succeed in operating more efficiently and reliably than their competitors will be positioned to ensure long-term success.

“Jardine and DNV are ideally suited to meet market demand for developing and implementing optimum risk based solutions for assets,” says Iain Light, Chief Operating Officer of DNV Consulting. Jardine commands a leading worldwide position in providing innovative solutions to asset performance problems in the oil and gas, chemical, power and rail industries. This position has been achieved through the integration of advanced life-cycle simulation technology and specialist engineering resources.

Jardine?s engineers utilise a range of proprietary software simulation tools developed “in-house” by a dedicated software division. This expertise places the company at the forefront of computer simulation engineering. With a firm base in DNV?s strong technical competencies, international experience and unique independence as a foundation, DNV Consulting offers advanced cross-disciplinary competence within management and technology. DNV Consulting serves clients in the oil and gas, process, transportation, food and beverage, utilities, ICT and public sectors.
