Second generation SSAS from Pole Star

Pole Star Space Applications Limited, industry leader in maritime fleet tracking solutions, has launched its 2nd generation entry-level DSAS-L ship security alert system (SSAS). The solution is fully compliant with SOLAS XI-2/6, and with minimum-required functionality it is provided at a significantly lower cost than current competition. The DSAS-L is based upon and compliments Pole Star?s advanced DSAS ship security alert system, which has been installed on over 3,000 ships. DSAS will continue to be sold as a premium product, incorporating unique features such as a power / battery management and tamper-evident reporting logic, thereby far exceeding the minimum regulatory compliance.

In addition to a re-design and rationalisation of the DSAS shipboard system to create the DSAS-L, Pole Star has also created a range of solution packages to provide the buyer with procurement control and flexibility, including ?Two PurpleFinder? application service levels which provides an on-line security alert management system with email delivery of a daily ship position report.

The DSAS-L solution is supplied complete, with a separate Skywave DMR200L Inmarsat D+ transceiver unit and breakout box, alert activation points, power supply / alert activation point cabling, and mounting kit. Installation is simple and straightforward, and with the PurpleFinder application, security alert management is easy. The DSAS-L is fully compliant to SOLAS XI-2/6, IEC60945 type approved and IACS certified.
